This year's Degree Show Exhibition was the best yet.

Hundreds of visitors packed into the studio to browse through the many books, prints and illustrations on display on Friday 3rd June. Some works were on sale and copies of this year's Olio magazine were given out, students had the chance to relax and bring family and friends to see the results of the year's hard work. All the students have their websites and blogs available to view on this site - just click on the 'Student sites' tab at the top of this page. You can also download a PDF copy of the magazine by clicking on the 'Olio 6' image, top right.

Below: The Pittville Press stand at the 2011 London Book fair was packed with student books and illustration samples which served as the base for the student's forays into the professional print publishing world.

At least two 3rd year students received publishing offers (we are keeping exact details confidential at the moment but watch this space)

and many others made promising contacts and useful insights about their work and the publishing industry. This is the 4th time the Pittville Press has been at the Fair and innovations such a the Illustrator's Cafe were developed from ideas discussed between course leader Kieren Phelps and the organisers, Reed Exhibitions.

Selected entries of the 2010 Cheltenham Illustration Awards were exhibited in the Cafe.

Students and staff go every year to Angouleme Festival International de Bande-Dessinee along with the most well known and critically acclaimed artists such as Chris Ware, Posy Simmonds, Tom Gauld and all the international stars of graphic novels worldwide.

This year our favourite book publishers Nobrow were there and it was great to see them.

Above: Sam Arthur of Nobrow speaking at the 2010 Cheltenham Illustration Awards Symposium which this time focused on small press and artists bookmakers. Craig Atkinson of Cafe Royal Books and printmaker Andrew Mockett gave fascinating talks and showed examples of an alternative to the mainsteam.
